My dad was an unspectacular man in every way. He wasn’t a loud, obnoxious braggart. Nor was he a quiet, timid man. He wasn’t ugly or Hollywood good-looking. Some may argue that last point. He wasn’t tall, or short. I guess you could describe my dad as medium.

He was very good at life. Just life. A life he built around my mother and his three children. He survived…
